We had quite a week! Take a look at highlights from our latest press. In workshop news- our Photoshop Basics workshop wrapped up and The Illustrated Chair workshop finished with colorful painted chairs and frames! We still have spots left in all the August workshops- so get creative and register now.

The talented papercutting artist (and our own fabulous workshop teacher) Jenny Lee Fowler has created a gorgeous leaf cutting for the Fall 2010 Neiman Marcus catalog.  Congrats!

Stop by the store to see what local illustrator and artist, Diana Huff, has created in honor of the big day! Diana, who has made illustrations for the likes of Neiman Marcus, the Strand Bookstore, Guerlain, Bloomingdales, and Tiffany and Co., also turns found and antique objects–chairs, tables, frames, boxes–into “humorous heirlooms” by illustrating the surface.  Some of her chairs are featured in our window, and some smaller objects displayed around the store. If the idea appeals to you, sign-up for her workshop, starting this Saturday 7/24.

We had a blast at our party for Temre’s Stanchfield’s exhibition on Saturday. If you couldn’t make it to the opening reception, be sure to stop by and see her work. The show will be up until 8/29. There are still spots in her Intro. to Oil Painting Workshop on 8/21, so don’t wait to sign up!

We are thrilled to be showing the new paintings of local artist Temre Stanchfield here at W & C. The show opens with a party on Saturday, July 17. Join us for summer refreshments and to meet the artist from 5-7. You can also sign up for Temre’s workshop, Introduction to Oil Painting, scheduled for August 21 from 11-2.

We had a packed house yesterday for Cal’s Patternmaking workshop. Can’t wait to see the clothes everyone makes from their new skirt/tee patterns. Well done! Cal’s next class at W & C is Textile Block Printing on 8/14.

It’s a busy day at Wing & Clover!  Yvette, who works here, is getting married underneath beautiful weather (a moment of rain passed…and clear warmth since), and we held two wonderful workshops: Embroidery & Applique with Cal Patch and Bookmaking with Jenny Lee Fowler!

Cal is also teaching Patternmaking Simplified on July 11 from 11-3pm, and Jenny is teaching another round of her wonderful Bookmaking workshop on August 7 from 3-5pm.  You can now register online for both of those.
